KEY FINDINGS

  • Non Gen-Z workers are very critical and, overall, fed-up with their Gen Z* colleagues! 54% of non-Gen Z workers described their Gen Z colleagues as lazy, with another 49% saying Gen Z workers are selfish


  • 30% of non-Gen Z workers would rather get a root canal than have to work with Gen Z colleagues and 27% would rather work with an ex


  • There’s a clear disconnect! 59% of Gen Z workers feel that they display professionalism in the workplace, while only 8% of non-Gen Z workers agree


  • Fostering a healthy work-life balance is a priority for 72% of Gen Z workers, however non-Gen Z workers are skeptical, as 56% think finding shortcuts to do work, even if it sacrifices quality, is Gen Z’s top priority.

Despite being the youngest generation currently in the workforce, Gen Z has already developed a strong reputation.

Common Ground

Gen Z and the rest of the workforce are in agreement on a few key aspects:


  • Both Gen Z (48%) and non-Gen Z workers (44%) identified a hybrid working model as the most ideal work structure to them.


    • 36% of non-Gen Z workers prefer a fully remote work model and another 21% think fully in-office is ideal.

    • 35% of Gen Z workers are interested in a fully remote work model, while only 17% prefer a fully in-office structure.
  • Gen Z workers identified growth and professional development opportunities (20%) and increased remote work flexibility (21%) as their most important work benefits. Similarly, non-Gen Z workers selected growth and professional development opportunities (24%) and increased remote work flexibility (22%) as their top two benefit priorities.


  • Parental Leave was the least important benefit for both Gen Z and non-Gen Z workers, as identified by only 1% and 2% of workers, respectively.
